Has He Already Given You The Answer?

Power 20 Books for 2014
As I shared at the end of last year here on the blog, there were 3 books I knew I needed to read at the time [please see “My 2013 Year-end Book Reading Schedule”].  I had hoped to finish them all before this New Year; however, that didn’t happen.  I was able to finish one and make some decent progress in another before the 31st.  I only have about 20 or so pages till I am done with the second title.
Since I am so close to my goal, I have been attempting to put my reading list for 2014 together.   I have been actually racking my brain to decide on my first 20… It is my hope that once I finish reading the first batch to increase the number in small increments throughout the year.  Last year’s count was unofficially 35 books read.  See, I have boxes of books that I had shipped with me from New York when I moved to Houston at the top of 2013.  It’s just a fraction of my library, but its plenty enough for me to read for the next 2-3 years!  On top of that, I have acquired a few e-books and Kindle editions of titles.  So, as you can see I am certainly not without reading materials.
Compiling this list is so vital to me because I am a “Purpose Driven Reader”.  Learning and gaining more practical knowledge is my truest passion and reading is a way to it.I have to laugh at myself though because God gave me the list back in December, on the 7th.  Yesterday, I had decided to steal a few additional minutes alone with God in the afternoon to quiet my thoughts and review my journal. I wasn’t looking for anything particularly.  I was just scanning through the pages, and there it was smack dabbed in the middle of it.  I have been faithfully keeping a journal for as long as I can remember.  This specific one I use exclusively to capture my thoughts when I have my quiet times with the Lord. This journal is fairly new. I only started writing in it at the end of November.
Earlier in the day I had enough sense to ask Him in prayer to guide me again to what I should be reading… And he took me right back to what he had already told me. I have listed the titles below for those interested in reading along with me.  They are not in any particular order outside of the first 3.
