Confidence is the fruit of trusting God. – Joyce Meyer
“Confidence is the fruit of trusting God. When we trust Him, we may not have all the answers, but we are confident that He does.” – Joyce Meyer from her devotional book “Trusting God Day by Day: 365 Daily Devotions“

Making that Necessary 180 Degree Turn
Lord, today I confess that I have made a 180 degree turn and am resting peacefully in your presence. My re-born sealed spirit is already yielded and bonded to you. I now submit my mind/soul and body to be led. Have your will with me Lord. I thank you for your grace and new mercies this morning. I thank you for your unmerited favor and unconditional agape love. I know I am your beloved because of this knowledge; I walk boldly into your courts with praise. I stand in awe and utter reverence because you loved me so much that you gave me a savior, a redeemer and a big…

Spending Time In Your Presence
Lord, I have learnt to spend time in your presence [continuously] simply means to acknowledge that you are always with me. What a comforting thing to know! You have seen my future and have provided provisions for me to achieve each promise you have said are mine because of my heavenly adoption. It’s all right there in your Book of Grace (the Bible) and what you have written on my heart! I seek your infinite wisdom on where I should go, what I should say, and your timing; you have already ordered my steps. Thank you for being so patient with me as I grow in faith day by day.…

Taking a trip in the Wayback Machine
I remember playing “Emancipation” while late night freestyle writing poetry in the Prince Fan chat rooms I frequented. The ones I liked. I would post at the Lair or kept in my journal. Many of those poems actually ended up in my book “Poetry of a Black Girl: the Darkness and the Light”.

Black Butterfly – Spread Your Wings and Fly!
“Black Butterfly” by Sounds of Blackness was the song that was in my spirit this morning. I found it a bit odd, because it is not a song that I listen to much now. However, it was one of the songs of empowerment that I [consistently] fed on as a teenager.

Phenomenal Woman – Ruthie Foster (Words by Dr. Maya Angelou)
I believe the poem "Phenomenal Woman" by Dr. Maya Angelou has to be one of my favorites of hers. As I digging through my digital record crates this morning (my iTunes library); I found this gem. I was even more happy to find a LIVE performance done of Ruthie Foster performing it on YouTube from her DVD/CD "Ruthie Foster Live at Antone's".

Pharrell Williams – Happy (London Gospel Remix – Adam & Kid)
I first saw and shared this remix of Pharrell Williams's "Happy" done by Adam & Kid on Facebook. I thought it was so cute that I had to share it on my own site. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I do.

Starting My Day in Praise
Thank you Jesus for my testimony in the making; that is causing me to grow even closer in relationship with you right now. You are truly my strength and my redeemer.

Back Porch Reading
This week I started something new. After realizing I had fallen a bit behind on my book reading schedule; I decided to designate the 1-2 hours before sundown to read outside on our back porch. I have found it is a fantastic way to end the day. Not only is it relaxing, but also it stimulates the creative sectors of my brain. Last night I finished reading the book “Accidental Pharisees: Avoiding Pride, Exclusivity, and the Other Dangers of Overzealous Faith” by Larry Osbourne and began digging deeper into “Overcoming Fear: Eliminating the Bondage of Fear” by my pastor, Dr. Creflo A. Dollar, Jr. The latter book, I picked up last…

I Must Respectfully Disagree
“And I am convinced and sure of the this very thing, that He Who began a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ [right up to the time of His return], developing [that good work] and perfecting and bring it to full completion in you.” – Philippians 1:6 Amplified
