    My Holiday Break Reading List

    December 19, 2015 /

I posted the other day I’ve stockpiled books like a squirrel over the last year. Here is the list of books I am reading over the Christmas holiday break while I am off from work. I believe it’s important that I use this time to recharge and prepare for the new year and these titles speak to where I am in my process.   Faithing It: Bringing Purpose Back to Your Life! by Cora Jakes Coleman The Power of I Am: Two Words That Will Change Your Life Today by Joel Osteen Fervent: A Woman’s Battle Plan to Serious, Specific and Strategic Prayer by Priscilla Shirer Overcoming Fear: Eliminating the Bondage of Fear by…

And so a new journey has begun

    December 19, 2015 /

I am stretching my neck out in faith and expectancy for some particular things in the upcoming year. While preparing to do so, I have decided to read and blog about my journey; so that I can have a tangible record of this season in my life. To be honest, in one of my private times with God, he told me I needed to utilize my love for the language arts especially reading and writing because my testimony may bless another woman going through a similar journey. There are some books, web links, audio and video message I have stockpiled and nibbled on bits and pieces from time to time…

    Happy Birthday to Me!

    December 12, 2015 /

I am 37 years and a week and a day old at this moment. With that being said, I have committed to from now into the new year to consistently read and blog. I have been stockpiling books like a squirrel and finally am smart enough to know I am able to take the time to recharge.

Jill Scott is back with her latest release “WOMAN”.

    July 24, 2015 /

I have always considered Miss. Jill Scott as my big sister-friend in my head! I know many of you that grew to love her like myself over the last 15 years, probably have too.  She has blessed us with her many talents: poet, singer, songwriter, actor and sisterly wisdom.  Today (7/24/15) she released her 5th studio album entitled “WOMAN”.  The first single “You Don’t Know”was released back in March: Below you can find an additional clip from an interview she did earlier this week on ABC’s “The View”.  You can purchase “WOMAN” now everywhere, but this link takes you to the product page on Amazon.com: http://amzn.to/1CVPUXJ

Just a few of the things I am thankful for

    December 24, 2014 /

It’s Christmas Holidays Season!  You are probably as excited as I am for the opportunity to spend time with family and friends and chow down on some good food and fixings. As I sit here in front of my computer, I can honestly say there are a number things that I can give thanks for. A lot has happened in my life since the last time I posted an article.  After almost a year and a half after relocating, I was given the opportunity to work full-time outside of the home this summer not once, twice but three times!  Don’t get me wrong, I was grateful for the transition time. …

1 of the three men I was honored to call my Godfather

    December 23, 2014 /

Not every child is blessed with Godparents! People chosen to watch over their spiritual development; charged to step in if their parents ever cannot. In my case I was blessed with 4 Godparents 3 of which were my Godfathers.  Each of my Godfathers has gone to be with the Lord.  The most recent one to pass was late last week.  My Godfather James was a US Army veteran, entrepreneur, and a very proud man that loved his family.  He was also my mother’s first husband, her first love and last.  My father was her second. They were both born on the same day, just a year apart.  As a young…

My Morning Ritual Begins with Thoughts of Gratitude!

    August 21, 2014 /

When the Hubby Coach’s alarm goes off the first thing, I think to myself is… How grateful I am to God for another day!  Mind you, I have most likely already been up for an hour. My internal clock seems to have learned to wake me instinctively an hour before my husband; most mornings I do not set my own alarm because of this. I use that hour before he and I interact to prepare myself mentally and spiritually for the day ahead. I have learned and understand the importance of the words I speak, so I have gotten into the habit of not actually saying anything out loud when…

My God is Faithful! – Prayer of Thanksgiving

    July 26, 2014 /

My God… Is a faithful God! I am thanking Him in advance for opening doors no man can shut. For giving me the words to speak and the wisdom to know when to just listen. An abundance of favor is mine. I shout grace, grace in Jesus’ name!

    Be a better communicator!

    July 26, 2014 /

The word I got in my spirit this morning was to be a better communicator. My big sister-cousin pointed out something to me the other week that I thought was hilarious because it is so true. She told me that she found it odd that I was such a social butterfly, but am private in the areas where I need others the most. Her assessment I know had a lot of validity to it because; well she has known me my entire life for one. Two she is professionally trained to diagnose my craziness, she is a Ph.D. candidate in Clinical Psychology. For whatever reason, now at age 35, I am…
