My Favorite Covenant/Marriage Preparation and Maintenance Books to Date!
What are you reading? Recently a dear sister-friend of mine that is also engaged asked me what books I have been reading in preparation of my own big day. However, I believe each person’s journey to the altar is different and so the titles that speak to them will also differ. For example, for me, I am preparing to become an athletic coach’s and an educator’s wife (my fiancé’s primary sport is football.) With that, all being said, please find a sampling of titles. I foresee as my transition from bride-to-be to wife that this listing will expand. Bible Scripture Reading:1 Corinthians Chapter 7, Ephesians Chapter 5 and Proverbs 31 The…

He Treats Her Like a Lady / / Chapter 2 // Three years earlier and a week before Valentine’s Day; Alex had just left her house to catch the train to work, when she was hit by a walking vision. A vision that stopped her completely in her tracks and caused her to audibly plead the blood of Jesus over what she saw; praying for the memory of it to be speedily cast from her mind. A vision of her long-time boyfriend, who she had rekindled three months prior her relationship with; a man who she thought was the love her life in the throes of passion with another man.…

He Treats Her Like a Lady (Short Story) – Preview
He Treats Her Like a Lady / / Chapter 1 // She sits and stares pondering how she could had forgotten how it felt to be treated as she should, like a lady only after so short of a time. I read having a Mary Heart in a Martha World – Finding Intimacy with God in the Busyness of Life by Joanna Weaver over the summer. A book I now highly recommend for all women, young and old to read. A look at the Book of Ruth…from Another Perspective
I have been studying the book of Ruth from the Old Testament for the last month and a half. Not for the usual reasons. Women are generally told to learn of and study Ruth’s life in preparation of meeting their own Boaz or future mate. I understand that as a single born again Christian woman, Jesus is my Boaz till I marry. So, anything I do now in “preparation” is really maintaining and improving when it comes to OUR relationship together. The character I have been drawn to is Ruth’s mother-in-law Naomi (from her first marriage) and her development throughout the book…from being a bitter and discouraged woman that mourned…
