Living in the Overflow: Walking in God’s Abundance, Grace, and Glory

Living in the Overflow: Walking in God’s Abundance, Grace, and Glory

On February 3, 2014, I was sitting in my seat at World Changers Church Houston, notebook and Bible open, ready to receive. At that time, our church was still a fellowship church—a church plant of World Changers Church International in Atlanta, Georgia, founded by Dr. Creflo and Taffi L. Dollar. For the first five years or so, all local congregation functions were handled by our own ministers. Our local pastors, Archie and Melissa Collins, were called church facilitators, and each week the same message taught at the home church was streamed to us and to other fellowship churches across the country.

That day’s sermon was delivered by guest minister Matthew Ashimolowo, and the word that came forth was powerful. Today, World Changers Houston is an independent church, with our local pastors—no longer facilitators, but senior pastors—leading us forward. But in 2014, I was still very much being shaped by the spiritual leadership of our “spiritual grandparents,” Dr. Creflo and Taffi Dollar, and the network of churches they planted.

Living in the Overflow
Living in the overflow means living in such abundance that it spills over into every area of your life—and onto others. Jesus promised in John 10:10 that He came so we could have life, and have it more abundantly. Not barely enough. Not “just making it.” But overflowing with the goodness of God.

The Psalms remind us:

“Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.” (Psalm 27:7)
“Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; and thy paths drop fatness.” (Psalm 65:11)

When we truly embrace this, our daily confession changes. We begin to speak in alignment with what God has promised:

  • What took years before, God can bring in months.
  • Time can accelerate in our favor.
  • Grace will deliver what we couldn’t achieve on our own.
  • For all our trouble, God will give us double honor. (1 Corinthians 15:10, Romans 5:20)

Walking in Grace
Grace isn’t just a word—it’s a flow. It positions us as channels of blessing. When grace is active in our lives:

  • God brags on us like a proud Father.
  • Those who come against us are really coming against Him.
  • We see sudden shifts and turnarounds.
  • We know favor—not just as an idea, but as a reality.

Hold on, because it won’t be long before His promises manifest.

Living in the Overflow of His Glory
If grace is the river, glory is the flood. Haggai 2:8-9 reminds us that the glory of the latter house will be greater than the former. God is not in the business of slowing down—He is into increase.

Anything connected to Him grows. When God shows or exposes something, it’s because His glory is at work. And we are carriers of that glory. We are vessels of His life and power.

That means:

  • We speak what brings glory, not just what we see in the natural.
  • We live knowing there’s “an extra” behind our ordinary.
  • We make room for the King of Glory to come in.

And no matter what we face—it will get better.

Final Encouragement
Overflow living is not about striving; it’s about abiding. It’s about aligning with God’s abundance, walking in His grace, and carrying His glory with confidence. So today, declare it: “I am living in the overflow. My cup runs over. My life is a testimony of God’s goodness, grace, and glory.”
