As a writer, poet, and certified bookworm, I love sharing my heart, thoughts, and lived experiences through storytelling. Whether through lyrical verse, children’s adventures, or soul-filled blog reflections, my pen is my praise and my protest. I’m always on the hunt for new books to read—and new stories to tell.

About the Author - Lela J. Fagan

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, and now blooming in Houston, Texas, I’m a wife and mama to three incredible children with invisible special needs. Life in our household is beautifully loud, full of rhythm, resilience, and God’s grace. My husband, Oji, and I are teammates in every sense—raising our tribe with love, laughter, and legacy.

If you’d like to explore my published works, you can find my debut poetry collection Poetry of a Black Girl: The Darkness and the Light on Amazon.

I’ve also released two heartfelt children’s books:
Lale and the Enchanted River, a lyrical, Afrofuturist folktale about wonder, courage, and divine purpose
Lil Chocolate Brown and the Beat of Her Day, the first in The Adventures of Lil Chocolate Brown from H-Town—a joyful tribute to rhythm, love, and neurodiverse brilliance.

There’s more to come—so stay tuned, stay inspired, and stay curious.
