5 Funny Things That Happened During & After Our Wedding Ceremony
On this upcoming Monday, the Hubby Coach and I will be celebrating our 2nd Wedding Anniversary! I am super excited because I think I am more in love with him now than ever before. We were married on June 9th, 2012 in the Great Lakes Garden in Niagara Falls State Park (Niagara Falls, NY.) I thought to commemorate the date; I would share a few funny things that happened on our special day. Here are 5 funny things that happened during and after our wedding ceremony…. Our brother-in-love who married us made me say my vows twice. I don’t know why, but he did! I actually forgot to put Oji’s ring on his…

3 years, 2 months, and 13 days – This Girl is On Fire
Saturday marked 9 months since I said “I Do” to my husband and almost a month since my relocation to Texas to be with him. 3 years, 2 months, and 13 days since we began our courtship… It feels as if I have known him forever. Actually, it has been more than half my life. The last time I saw him before we re-connected in early 2009; I was a young girl-woman heading out into the world with fire in my eyes. I was ready to change the world. Now I am a married woman. Still with fire in my eyes, yet now with a new purpose… God’s. It’s still…

Who is in the Driver’s Seat?
I am learning that submission in marriage only works when you actually do it. And the “S” on my undergarments only stands for “Spanx”, not “Superwoman”. Now let me explain, I grew up in a household where my parents were separated for most of my life… My father was there because I was one of those children that demanded you be involved in my life. To me my mother was a Superwoman. We didn’t have much financially. However, she always had a roof over our heads; kept a decent house and food in the fridge and clothing on our backs. She understood the importance of recycling before it became all…

Sexy is your OWN Spouse
I have thought long and hard about what would be the topic of my first posting since getting married earlier this month. There were so many little funny and miraculous stories that I could have shared that led up to our covenant ceremony and the two weeks since. I know at some point I will share them. However, taking a moment to look at my husband as he sat at the computer and very casually displayed his ring finger sealed the deal for me. The man was just plain sexy! AND YES I just had to tell him. There is something about a man that is confident in who he…

My Favorite Covenant/Marriage Preparation and Maintenance Books to Date!
What are you reading? Recently a dear sister-friend of mine that is also engaged asked me what books I have been reading in preparation of my own big day. However, I believe each person’s journey to the altar is different and so the titles that speak to them will also differ. For example, for me, I am preparing to become an athletic coach’s and an educator’s wife (my fiancé’s primary sport is football.) With that, all being said, please find a sampling of titles. I foresee as my transition from bride-to-be to wife that this listing will expand. Bible Scripture Reading:1 Corinthians Chapter 7, Ephesians Chapter 5 and Proverbs 31 The…

Web-Locked, a New Web Series about the Ins and Outs of Marriage
Hey folks, I have a new web-series that a sister-friend of mine Christina Faison co-produced and directed called “Web-Locked”. It’s a show about the ins and outs of marriage. Follow a young couple as they experience the first hysterical year of being “Web-Locked”. The series officially premieres on Sunday, November 1st, 2009. It stars Lawrence Saint-Victor and Karla Mosley from the Guiding Light. Lawrence is also one of my brother’s in Christ and is the writer of the series! This is the first collaborative effort between Christina’s production company Chain Reaction Productions and Lawrence’s company Saint-Victor Productions and from the sneak peek does not look like it will be the…
